“150 for the 150th”
As we celebrate our 150th anniversary of Belmont Abbey College, we embrace our roots from 1876 when one monk and two students traveled from St. Vincent’s Archabbey in Latrobe, PA to establish a Benedictine monastery and Catholic college on property located in Garibaldi, NC (now Belmont). The former St. Mary’s College became Belmont Abbey College in 1913 and has grown from a men only junior college to a co-educational liberal art’s senior college with over 1700 undergraduate and graduate level students. Please join us for our sesquicentennial celebration… it’s going to be a BLAST!
Individual Ticket: $75 Family Ticket: $150 (2 or more)
This year, tickets are all-inclusive for food, beer, wine, and soft drinks including coffee/tea at all events.
- Except Saturday Field Day (food trucks and beverage carts will be available for purchases)
- Except Class of 1976 reunion which will require a separate ticket for access

Friday, October 2
Welcome Center and Check-In: 10:00am - 5:00pm (Location Stowe Hall outside on Abbey Lane)
Mass in the Basilica: 11:00am
Campus Tours: 11:00am – 5:00pm (Location: Lowery Alumni House)
Archives History Walk: 1:00pm – 5:00pm (Location: Abbot Vincent Taylor Library)
Welcome Back Cookout: 5:30pm -7:30pm (Location: Science Building Lawn & Alumni House)
- Hamburgers, hot dogs, and other All-American fare
Class of 1976 50-Year Reunion Dinner: 5:30pm - 7:30pm (Location: Haid Patio/Dinning Room)
- Separate ticket required for entry
Alumni House will remain open until 10pm for all alumni to enjoy
Saturday, October 3
Color Run: 7:00am (Location: Peritmeter Road)
- $10/person – Separate charge/sponsored by Student Life
- 5k for runners
- 1 lap around Perimeter Road for walkers
President’s Breakfast and College Update: 9:00am-10:00am (Location: Holy Grounds)
- Full breakfast
- Supervised play area available for kids
Campus tours will continue to be available: 10:00am - 12:00pm (Location: Lowery Alumni House)
Mass in the Basilica: 11:00am
Field Activities and Soccer Games: 12:00pm - 5:00pm (Location: Abbey Soccer Field)
- Free Activity for all, including the public
- Business Fair (sign up required for business participation)
- Food Trucks and Beverage Trucks will be available for purchases
Celebrating 150 Years of Impact: Oktoberfest Brats and Biergarten Festival
- Time: 6:30pm – 9:30pm
- Location: Lawn between the library and science building
- Special Guests to be recognized
- Bavarian-themed food (veggie options available)
- Oktoberfest games and prizes
- Music
- Kid-friendly play area
- Celebrating with the Abbey community to mark 150 years of Benedictine tradition
